Bulky Waste Collection Service resumed

East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced that its Bulky Waste Collection Service resumed on Thursday 21st May.

The Council suspended its garden waste and bulky waste collections in March due to a reduction in staff availability as a result of the coronavirus. In line with Government recommendations, the Council prioritised its waste collection services to focus on collecting both household waste and dry recycling.

Following the resumption of garden waste services in April, the Council is pleased to announce that it will reinstate its bulky waste service with additional measures to protect staff and residents.

Councillor Ray Faulkner, Deputy Leader for Environment and Housing, said: “During the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak, when a number of staff were unavailable due to self-isolation, it was important that the Council prioritised household waste and recycling collections.

“Over the past few weeks, we have carefully and gradually reintroduced our waste and recycling services and I’m delighted that we are now able to resume bulky waste collections.”
