East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced that over £20m grant funding has been paid to 1,711 East Staffordshire businesses, but there are still local businesses that have not applied.
The Small Business and Retail, Hospitality & Leisure grants, which were announced by the Government, are part of a wider package of business support available to businesses in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Council officers have been working non-stop to process the many business grant applications that have been submitted and are writing to businesses if more information is required to allow the grant to be issued.
Whilst a significant number of eligible businesses have applied, the Council is aware that a number of businesses who are eligible are yet to apply. We have contacted 212 ratepayers in the last few days to remind them to apply for the grant or to let us know if they are not.
Ratepayers who have not submitted their grant applications should do so as soon as they can. Any business that thinks they should be entitled to the grant should visit the Council’s website at www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/business-rates/relief/coronavirus to find out more about the grants that are available and how they can make their application.
We ask that all applications are completed with the correct details to enable those applications to be processed quickly and grant monies paid. Incorrect or missing information will delay the processing of the application.
