Community Support Funding Helps in the Response to Covid-19

In April, East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Councillor Community Fund (CCF) re-opened for new applications. In response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Cllr Bernard Peters Deputy Leader for Regulatory and Community Support, encouraged Ward Councillors to make use of the Councillors Community Fund to support groups and organisations who are providing assistance to residents during these difficult times.

A maximum grant of £500 is available to community groups and organisations working with communities in East Staffordshire. Since the scheme started in April the following organisations have received funding through the CCF scheme:

  • Burton Hope food bank
  • East Staffordshire Covid-19 Hub
  • Salvation Army food bank
  • Burton Caribbean Association
  • Winshill Together
  • Uttoxeter Heath Community Centre
  • Loveinspire Foundation

These organisations have received a combined total of £4,149.52 in grant funding enabling them to deliver a range of activities including the provision of food bank services, activities to support children, hot meal delivery and food parcel schemes.
